Curriculum vitae
LAURENCE EGLOFF (*1972 in Paris, France) is a painter based in Berlin.
French painter Laurence Egloff has a deep interest of repetition and declension, a taste that is reflected in her pictorial practice. By taking up existing images, drawn from the common figurative repertoire as well as from the history of art (Tiepolo, Botticelli, Velazquez, Goya, Tintoretto, e. a.), she appropriates images, translating them into her own language and materializing them on canvas, paper, or tapestries.
Egloff studied at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where she graduated in 1999. Her works were shown, amongst otheres, at Galerie Nord / Kunstverein Tiergarten (Berlin), PABLO’S BIRTHDAY (New York), Centre d’Art Contemporain (Lacoux), and Galerie Commines (Paris).
